For most trips, no. Main roads around Punta Cana, Bávaro and Cap Cana are paved, and a modern front-wheel-drive SUV copes well with hills, speed bumps and rain. A true 4×4 is overkill in most cases. If you do want one, we have the Jeep Rubicon — a real 4×4 at $140/day — and all-wheel-drive Mercedes GLC and GLE.

Yes. The price includes third-party liability and full-coverage insurance with a deductible. For SUVs the deductible is $300 — the same amount as the refundable deposit. A zero-deductible option is available on request.

Yes — $20, and we track your flight number, so a delay costs you nothing. Hotels in Bávaro / Punta Cana are also $20, Macao and Uvero Alto $40, deliveries between 22:00 and 08:00 $60. Pick-up at our Bávaro office is free from 08:00 to 22:00.

Not strictly, but it helps. The extra ground clearance is comfortable on the village roads toward Macao and Uvero Alto and on rough beach access roads. Our SUVs are fine for village roads — not for off-road tracks or driving on sand.

Yes. Mileage is unlimited, so day trips across the island are fine — Santo Domingo is about two and a half hours on the toll road. The car has to come back to Punta Cana: there are no one-way rentals.

No. A credit card is not required to book. VISA and MasterCard are accepted; American Express is not.

Same-to-same: return the car with the same fuel level you received it with. All SUVs, including the Kia Carens and the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid, run on premium petrol — at Dominican gas stations ask for “gasolina premium”. The XL7 is a petrol hybrid: there is nothing to plug in, it simply uses less fuel.

Prices follow demand. Winter holidays, mid-December to April, and July–August are the busiest; late spring and autumn are usually quieter. Long rentals are always cheaper per day — the Kia Carens drops to $70/day on a 30-day rental.
