The cheapest car we rent, and the right answer for more people than take it. It uses 4.4-5.4 L/100 km, so one tank covers most of a week of Bavaro driving, and it parks anywhere: the tight streets behind Los Corales, the Jumbo car park on a Saturday afternoon, the verge outside a comedor. The boot takes two large cases with the rear seats up. Four adults with four suitcases is optimistic. The honest limitation is ride height. It sits low, so the tall unpainted speed bumps want taking at walking pace, and the sand track down to Macao will scrape it if you are careless. For two people on paved routes it is the correct car, and nobody here will try to sell you something bigger.
Pay attention! Smoking in the car is strictly prohibited. A fine will be imposed for violating this rule.
Renting for a month or longer
A monthly rental of the Kia Picanto in Punta Cana costs $750 for 30 days — that is $25 a day, about 44% below the daily rate. Insurance, taxes and unlimited mileage are included, exactly as on a short rental, and the deposit does not change. Long stays are common here: people who work remotely from Bávaro or spend a season in the Dominican Republic usually find a month with us cheaper than repeated weekly bookings. - Yes. Thirty days cost $750, which works out at $25 a day — around 44% below the daily rate. Insurance, taxes and unlimited mileage are included, and the deposit stays the same as on a short rental.
- What documents do you need for a long-term rental?
- A passport with the entry stamp and your national driving licence. We have to see the stamp: a foreign licence is valid in the Dominican Republic for three months from the date you entered the country, so the entry date decides how long you may legally drive.
- Can I rent a car for longer than three months?
- The car, yes — a foreign licence, no. It stops being valid three months after your entry date, so a longer rental has to be planned around that. Write to us with your dates before you book and we will go through the options together.

What documents are required to rent a car?
You will need a passport with an entry stamp to the country less than 90 days ago and a valid international driver’s license.
Is a credit card required to rent a car?
A credit card is not required for booking, but you can use it to pay for the rental. We accept Visa and MasterCard, but DO NOT accept American Express.
Is a security deposit required to rent a car?
Yes, and it is fully refundable. For compact cars (Kia Picanto, Kia Rio) the deposit is $200; for SUVs and larger cars (Kia Carens, Suzuki XL-7, Kia Sonet, Nissan Kicks and similar) it is $300. The insurance deductible is the same amount — $200 and $300 respectively. For Premium and Exotic categories the deposit is calculated individually.
What payment methods are available?
Cash (USD, Dominican Pesos, Euro), card payment (via link or terminal), USDT, and PayPal (+6% fee). Deposits can be made in cash or by card; refunds are issued in cash in USD.
Are taxes included in the rental price?
Yes, all taxes are included in the price. Delivery and the refundable deposit are quoted separately.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery to Punta Cana airport (PUJ) or to a hotel in the Bávaro / Punta Cana resort area costs $20. Delivery to Macao and Uvero Alto is $40, and delivery between 22:00 and 08:00 is $60. Picking the car up at our office in Bávaro is free from 08:00 to 22:00; outside those hours it is $20.
What hotels are in Uvero Alto?
Uvero Alto is the resort strip north of the airport, past Macao — about 40 minutes from PUJ. The hotels there are Excellence Punta Cana, Excellence El Carmen, Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts, Live Aqua Beach Resort, Dreams Onyx, Secrets Tides, Breathless Punta Cana, Ocean El Faro, Royalton CHIC, Grand Sirenis, Wyndham Alltra and a handful of smaller ones. Uvero Alto is our far delivery zone: bringing the car to any of these hotels costs $40, and the same applies to the return.
Are there any additional charges?
There are no additional charges or hidden fees, except for payment system fees or your bank’s commission.
What insurance is included in the rental price?
The price includes third-party liability insurance and Full Coverage Insurance with a deductible. The deductible is $200 for compact cars and $300 for SUVs and larger cars — the same amount as the refundable deposit. A zero-deductible option is available on request.
Is mileage limited?
We do not limit mileage, but please do not exceed speed limits. Each car has a GPS sensor that tracks location and speed. Severe violations may terminate the agreement. Crossing the border (e.g., to Haiti) is strictly prohibited.
What should I do if a technical issue arises during the rental period?
All our cars are new and in excellent condition, but if a breakdown occurs, please contact us immediately at +1-829-432-7755.
What should I do if I am involved in an accident or damage the rental car?
Contact us immediately and do not attempt to repair the damage yourself. Our vehicles are serviced only by the official dealer; unauthorized intervention voids the warranty and may forfeit the deposit.
